About Author

” To ‘listen’ another’s soul into a condition of disclosure and discovery may be almost the greatest service that any human being ever performs for another.”

Quaker author Douglas Steere

This is the heart beat of spiritual direction. This is also my greatest joy. . . to sit with someone and listen together for God’s whisper in the ear. . . to hide together under the shadow of God’s wing . . . to weather storms together . . . to be a safe place in the harshness of life . . . to see beauty in the bleakest landscape.

As a trained spiritual director, I provide a friendly and safe space where another’s story can unfold. Henry Nouwen describes spiritual direction in this way . . .

Healing means, first of all, the creation of an empty but friendly space where those who suffer can tell their story to someone who can listen with real attention…Healers are hosts who patiently and carefully listen to the story…

If you find it helpful, my background includes church director of spiritual formation, graduate school professor of strategic leadership, associate seminary dean and leadership in an international university student organization, as well as speaker and retreat leader.

In addition to individual spiritual direction, I facilitate group spiritual direction, meeting with four to five people for 2 & 1/2 hour sessions, monthly. We can meet in person or on Zoom.
